Cell phones, texting, tweeting, e-mailing, and even the ridiculous trend of chasing imaginary Pokémon’s are all examples of driver distraction that have been receiving a good deal of attention. However, eating, grooming, rushing, correcting children and daydreaming have not gone away and are still leading causes of distracted driving. In the past two years, and for the first time in decades, the number of driving related fatalities has increased in the U.S. Since 2014, the number of fatalities on our roadways has increased by 17%. Driver distraction plays a large roll in this increase.
